My name is Richard Reese and I created this chia seeds site after reading Ayerza and Coates’ book Chia: Rediscovering a Forgotten Crop of the Aztecs. The book gives you the history and the facts of why chia is so important in our diet – both ours and animals.

After reading the book I started incorporating chia seeds into my everyday diet. I ate chia seeds as fuel for working out and to help get me through long runs. I started feeling so good on my runs, that I started to eat 2 tablespoons of the seed in the morning, and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds about an hour before I ate dinner each day.

I feel great and have a ton of energy. I wanted to create this site to help bring an awareness of the beneficial properties this powerful seed has to offer.

The Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas used chia seeds as a staple of their diet and if we can learn from their example, we’ll be that much healthier for following their lead. It is my hope that after learning more about this nutritious seed you’ll add it to your diet.
